Fleet Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team at Barnwell House of Tires. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, experience with working with heavy-duty trucks and trailers, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

• Perform repair work and maintenance for trucks and other diesel vehicles.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and work in a safe manner.
• Receive and carry out repair orders as dispatched.
• Perform thorough, accurate diagnostic and preventative maintenance inspections.
• Complete all required PM maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation.
• Perform complex operations, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs and field tests.
• Operate CDL and Non-CDL vehicles to perform road tests and shuttle in and out of the garage for repairs and maintenance.
• Document repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Clean Driver's License.
• Inspector License a +.
• ASE Certification a +.
• MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS.
• 3+ years experience as a diagnostic fleet mechanic.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

The salary range for the position of Fleet Mechanic is $27-$45 per hour. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range, including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
