About the RoleAs a Civil Estimator with Muller, Inc., you will play a crucial part in interpreting civil plans, reviewing plan sheets, and collaborating with our Chief Estimator to develop cost estimates for various site work construction projects. Your analytical skills and experience with earthwork take-off software will be invaluable assets to our team.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity that offers a competitive salary of $95,000 per year, along with a yearly bonus, paid holidays and vacation, health insurance, 401K with company match, and more.

Responsibilities
  • You will utilize your expertise to complete take-offs using Trimble Business Center – HCE, evaluate site access and conditions, and propose production levels for proposals.
  • Manage take-off and bidding processes for small site package opportunities, Green Infrastructure (Stormwater) installation projects, and other civil construction projects.
  • Work closely with our internal Superintendents to assess time/materials/equipment needs for self-performed tasks on specific opportunities.
  • You will prepare proposals for review, build proposal folders with supporting documentation, and identify scope of work and assumptions/exclusions for each proposal.
  • Submit proposals to clients and follow up on their status as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of bid matrices and bidding calendars, working alongside the Estimating Assistant.
  • Make site visits to confirm scope of work when necessary.
  • For successful proposals, hand off project details to the Operations Team for smooth project completion.
Requirements
  • A.A.S. or B.S. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or equivalent.
  • A general understanding of civil construction principles through professional or educational experiences/internships.
  • Experience estimating wet utility projects, including water, sewer, and storm drain installations.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment knowledge and operation.
  • Proficiency in using earthwork take-off software, such as Trimble Business Center – HCE.
  • Experience with all aspects of site development, including E&S, clearing, earthwork and excavation, utilities, fine grading, concrete and paving, stabilization, etc.
  • Bidding experience with Stormwater Facilities/BMP's is an asset.
