Job Summary:

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Merrillville, Indiana. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating with other educators and support staff to ensure that all students have access to a quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities, in collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and other support staff.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in individual or small group settings, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Assess student progress regularly and make adjustments to instructional strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and provide accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and other team members to discuss student progress and develop strategies for supporting student learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Indiana teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
