UCLA African American Studies Department Lecturer Positions

The Department of African American Studies at UCLA is seeking qualified candidates for part-time lecturer positions in the 2024-2025 academic year. We are looking for instructors who can teach a range of courses, including surveys of African diaspora, music, religion, history, and cultural studies. Lecturer appointments are made on a quarter-by-quarter basis, with quarter academic appointment dates as follows: Fall: October 1-December 31st, 2024; Winter: January 1-March 31st, 2025; Spring: April 1-June 30th, 2025. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
Candidates with a Ph.D. or equivalent in African/African American Studies, American Studies, Art History, History, Law, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Ethnomusicology, Public Health, Education, Public Affairs, Urban Planning, Philosophy, Theater, Film, Literature, Humanities, Gender Studies, LGBTQ Studies, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Applicants who are advanced to Ph.D. candidacy or who have a M.A., M.F.A., or equivalent may be considered.
