Role Objective:
The position involves executing various maintenance tasks at water production and associated facilities. Responsibilities include engaging in electrical installation projects and maintaining existing electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and control systems. The role requires performing complex circuit diagnostics and troubleshooting while collaborating with other departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Install circuits for power and lighting, up to 480 volts.
  • Independently or collaboratively maintain high voltage circuits.
  • Install electrical and electronic systems per specifications.
  • Update and prepare technical drawings.
  • Plan work after diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.
  • Conduct necessary repairs on electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Perform tests for various electrical parameters as required.
  • Service and repair motors, controllers, telemetry, PLCs, and other equipment.
  • Utilize hand and electric tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Document equipment maintenance history using the MMS System.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel, contractors, or engineering teams.
  • Request tools and materials, ensuring inventory is recorded.
  • Document vehicle and equipment usage.
  • Develop or modify Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs).
  • Assist in training new personnel as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues.
  • Conduct routine checks on SCADA system alarms.

Work Environment:
  • Exposure to wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts and in high or precarious locations.
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
  • High noise levels in the plant environment.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a technical degree (24 credit hours) in electronics or electricity from an accredited institution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Willingness to pursue further education to enhance skills.
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code.
  • Understanding of medium and low voltage circuits.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers.
  • Awareness of safety and environmental procedures.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and relevant software.
  • Ability to participate in the Respiratory Protection Program.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards.
  • Responsible use and care of company-provided hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Understanding of SCADA system operations.
  • Capability to diagnose control failures related to power or communications.
  • Dependability and leadership when working independently.
  • Ability to interpret operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Experience with RCM maintenance programs.

Physical Requirements:
  • Availability for emergency response outside of normal working hours.
  • Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks.
  • Close vision and ability to distinguish wire colors required for troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds routinely and 100 pounds occasionally with assistance.
