Seeking a Highly Skilled Ophthalmic Technician

We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at MP RPO. This is a fantastic chance to utilize your technical expertise and passion for delivering outstanding patient care.

About the Role:

  • As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our ophthalmologists and optometrists by performing comprehensive work-ups, including visual acuity testing, manual lensometry, and pupillary function tests.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and consistent documentation, as well as troubleshooting instruments and ensuring they are functioning properly.
  • Additionally, you will provide exceptional patient support, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Collection and Testing: Perform various tests and exams to assess patients' ocular health, including visual acuity, refraction, and corneal topography.
  2. Patient Support: Provide excellent communication skills, responding to patient inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Instrument Maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain instruments, ensuring they are in good working condition.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., ophthalmology, optometry, biology)
  • 1+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or in a related role
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification or willingness to obtain
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
