About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sleep Technologist to join our team at the Pediatrics Sleep Study Lab. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs
  • Determine final testing parameters and procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director
  • Review patient history and verify medical orders, following sleep center protocols
  • Verify patient identification, collect documents, and obtain consent for the study
  • Explain the procedure and orient the patient for sleep testing
  • Select and calibrate equipment for testing, ensuring proper functioning
  • Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards
  • Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization
  • Follow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data
  • Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events
  • Implement appropriate interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention
  • Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events using AASM standards
  • Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Associate or higher degree program in polysomnographic technology preferred
  • 3 years' minimum experience as a Polysomnographic Technician or Technologist
  • Authorized Polysomnographic Technologist licensed in New York State in good standing
  • Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential
  • Current BLS certification
