About the Role

Amazon is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and lead the development of software that controls and optimizes robotic fulfillment centers used by operations.

This is a key member of a diverse team of engineers who deliver highly scalable robotic systems. The successful candidate will lead the design and development of services that assign work, maintain healthy charge levels, and manage the storage of Amazon products within its robotics solution.

The team's software is at the heart of ensuring Amazon's retail customers get their packages on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, and implement robotic applications and infrastructure.
  • Influence the team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to iterate on design and implementation.
  • Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
  • Prototype and test concepts or features, both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment.
  • Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback.
  • Mentor other engineer team members.
What You'll Need
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Strong background or familiarity with algorithms used to solve complex problems for highly-scalable systems.
