Pipelayer Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Pipelayer Journeyman to join our team. As a Pipelayer Journeyman, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing all types of underground piping systems in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

• Identify and select the correct parts and components for piping systems installation
• Align and set pipe on grade using levels and lasers, cutting, fitting, and connecting pipe using seal joints, cement, glue, or mechanical fittings
• Grade and level trench bases using tamping equipment and hand tools
• Dig trenches to desired depth, install pipe components, and cover/backfill with earth or other materials
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, or determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for a work activity
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, pointing out deficiencies and explaining corrective action needed

• High school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or related area
• Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for the position
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management/supervision
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools, as well as measurement tools

• Able to meet all physical requirements
• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules
