Pipelayer Specialist

As a skilled Pipelayer Journeyman, you will play a crucial role in planning, laying out, installing, testing, and repairing all types of underground piping systems. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that these systems are installed in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and select the necessary parts and components for piping systems installation
- Align and set pipes on grade using precision levels and lasers, cutting, fitting, and connecting pipes using seal joints, cement, glue, or mechanical fittings
- Grade and level trench bases using tamping equipment and hand tools, digging trenches to the desired depth and installing pipe components
- Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, or determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed for a work activity
- Inspect subordinate work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, pointing out deficiencies and taking corrective action as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or a related area
- Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for the position
- Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management/supervision
- Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools, as well as measurement tools
Work Environment and Expectations
- Able to meet all physical requirements
- Must have all required tools
- Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules
