Nautical Services Manager Job Description

At SCI Shared Resources LLC, we're dedicated to celebrating lives and our associates. We're seeking a highly skilled Nautical Services Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations of nautical services, including launch operations, boat crew scheduling, and family service programs.
  • Foster a sense of ownership on the vessel and pride in the services offered to families and manage costs.
  • Responsible for short-term planning as well as supporting long-term goals while developing a professional and effective staff, and exceeding client family expectations.
Financial Management:
  • Work with local and Market leadership to develop annual budget aligned with forecasted production and revenue goals.
  • Approve expenditures and invoices, including overtime.
Operations:
  • Manage daily activities ensuring on-time services.
  • Assure operating practices & procedures comply with applicable federal and state regulations and Company policies.
  • Establish process goals and priorities. Present and communicate strategies, values, and goals to crew.
  • Set, revise, and update diving and boat operations procedures; train boat service team; and expedite workflow for scheduling coordinator.
  • Assign and monitor work for safe completion and conformance to policies & procedures.
  • Visit current and future customers as needed.
  • Resolve complaints and grievances.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance of license requirements of crew members. Ensure crews are properly trained on all equipment and procedures.
  • Ensure vessels are up to compliance on required drills.
  • Work with third-party company to ensure all maintenance is up-to-date and compliant with Coast Guard and company standards.
  • Work with third-party maintenance to ensure dry-docking of vessels occurs as expected.
  • Use navigation points and information about facilities, berths, and channel check points.
  • Respond to special problems/constraints that affect operations.
People Development:
  • Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team.
  • Determine and manage boat crew's responsibilities, expectations, and accountabilities.
  • Seek to understand team members' career goals and provide assignments to develop skills and/or close gaps.
  • Monitor training and licensing requirements, ensuring staff is re-trained/licensed prior to expiration.
  • Screen candidates, hires, and promotes staff, completes performance reviews, creates developmental plans, and completes terminations as needed.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Market Leadership for recruiting and retention.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; OR 5 years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid TWIC & driver's license required.
  • USCG license preferred.
  • Three (3) years' managerial experience.
  • Two (2) years' diving experience.
  • Experience with coral reefs preferred.

This is a full-time position with up to 10% travel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nautical services management and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
