Position Summary
The Senior Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing the complete accounting cycle for Oberalp North America. This position collaborates closely with the Finance and Administration Manager to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly reporting.

Main Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Accountant will manage various accounting functions, including:

  • Vendor Management
  • Processing purchase invoices and payments
  • Calculating and reporting sales agent commissions
  • Controlling and reporting employee expenses
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
  • Performing bank account reconciliations
  • Overseeing intercompany reconciliations
  • Managing contractor W9s
  • Filing annual 1099s
  • Preparing and filing taxes for Washington and Canada
  • Conducting internal audits for journal entry accuracy
  • Preparing month-end journal entries
  • Planning cash flow
  • Supporting monthly and yearly close processes
  • Assisting the Finance and Administration Manager as needed
  • Providing support to the Oberalp Management team
  • Assisting with the Evolv brand and Yosemite Bum resole as needed
  • Supporting accounts receivable and collections
  • Handling miscellaneous office management tasks
  • Conducting ad-hoc reporting and analysis

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Familiarity with accounting principles, including US GAAP and month-end processes
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, etc.)
  • Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Navision and Business Central experience is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for success
  • Flexibility and a willingness to assist in various capacities within a team environment
  • A love for the outdoors, particularly in mountain sports such as backcountry skiing, climbing, or trail running is a plus
