Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist Position at Tufts Medicine

This position is essential for delivering clinical and medical support to patients undergoing cardiac procedures. The role demands specialized knowledge and skills acquired through vocational training and education. As a clinical technologist, you will prioritize patient safety during various interventions in a dynamic environment.

Position Overview:

In your role as a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist at Tufts Medicine, you will operate under the guidance of surgical leaders, performing tasks for patients undergoing cardiac interventions. Your duties will encompass room preparation, inventory management, patient logistics, and readiness of specialized instruments. You will be integral to the cardiac surgery program and related surgical operations.

Essential Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Associate's degree.

2. Minimum of one year of experience in a surgical or operating room setting within a healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate room preparation and setup of specialized equipment for procedures.
  • Transport patients and necessary supplies throughout the facility.
  • Assist in positioning patients and maintaining cleanliness in procedural areas.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including the management of medical gas tanks and biohazard waste.
  • Collaborate with the clinical care team and engage in process enhancement initiatives.
  • Comply with regulations and foster a positive work atmosphere.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift, reach, carry, push, and pull weights of 40-50 pounds or more.
  • Capability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and respond to auditory and visual signals.
  • Manage blood, bodily fluids, and operate medical equipment with safety.
  • Possess manual dexterity to execute assigned tasks effectively.
