Job Title: Assistant Controller

At RK Industries, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Controller in directing the company's accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the supervision and mentoring of accounting staff, including work allocation, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Assist in overseeing accounting systems and internal control procedures.
  • Oversee the entire financial close process, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist in the production and distribution of monthly financials, KPIs, and other financial reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
  • Support the coordination of the annual financial audit and prepare detailed schedules for auditors.
  • Assist in management of property tax and sales and use tax returns.
  • Assist with responding to inquiries from other departments and providing necessary financial information.
  • Aid the Presidents of Business Units in understanding the financial position of their units.
  • Assist in constructing and overseeing the Annual Budget.
  • Support cash management and accounts payable functions when needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification (required).
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or financial management with increasing responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in a construction accounting environment is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems (Vista ERP system knowledge is a plus).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
