Fleet Maintenance Coordinator

The City of Roanoke is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Scheduler to oversee the maintenance and repair of its fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities for the fleet
- Ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal fleet performance
- Monitor and report on maintenance activities and fleet performance
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in fleet maintenance or a related field
- Technical knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fleet management experience
- Automotive certifications (e.g. CAFM, CPFP, CEM)
- Experience with fleet management software
Work Environment:
The Fleet Maintenance Scheduler will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of maintenance professionals. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and organizational skills.
Language Skills:
The ability to read and interpret documents, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions is required.
Reasoning Ability:
The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations is required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
A valid driver's permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. May be required to qualify for certification as a State Inspector.
