Job Summary

The Industrial Athletic Trainer will play a critical role in developing and implementing a comprehensive worksite injury management and health improvement program for employees. This position requires a unique blend of athletic training expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills to design and implement effective injury prevention and health promotion strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Injury Prevention Programs: Design and implement site-specific wellness initiatives and programs to reduce the risk of workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Ergonomic Risk Assessments and Interventions: Conduct comprehensive ergonomic risk analyses and develop creative solutions to mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Health Education and Promotion: Provide health education and promotion activities to employees, including workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching.
  • First Aid and Emergency Response: Provide first-aid treatment and management for musculoskeletal complaints, including the use of ice, heat, wellness stretches, massage, tape techniques, and non-rigid bracing.
  • Orthopedic Injury Assessments: Conduct orthopedic injury assessments and develop treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic exercise, modalities, and work conditioning as necessary.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of injury prevention programs and generate reports for return on investment and budgets.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate regularly with safety personnel, management, and employees to ensure seamless implementation of injury prevention programs and promote a culture of safety and wellness.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in a related field and Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer.
  • State Licensure and Certification: State licensure/certification as an Athletic Trainer.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification: Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Travel and Flexibility: Willingness to travel to various client locations and adapt to changing work environments.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, employees, and management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and Knowledge: Minimum of two (2) years of athletic training experience, knowledge of OSHA Recordability and workers' compensation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ergonomic and Occupational Health Experience: Previous experience in ergonomic/occupational health, CEAS/OSHA10 certification, and knowledge of injury prevention and health promotion strategies.
