Substance Abuse Recovery Counselor

Victory House is a dedicated facility providing a supportive environment for adult men battling substance use disorders. Our mission is to deliver personalized care tailored to the unique needs of each client. As a primary counselor, you will play a crucial role in guiding individuals through the early stages of their recovery journey.

• Facilitate group and family therapy sessions, ensuring thorough documentation as required.
• Manage a caseload of clients, including case management and utilization review updates.
• Conduct treatment planning and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Deliver educational presentations to enhance client understanding of recovery.
• Perform initial and follow-up assessments for clients.
• Complete comprehensive Biopsychosocial evaluations with assigned clients.
• Ensure timely and precise documentation of patient care, treatment, and incidents.
• Provide crisis intervention support to clients as necessary.
• Coordinate aftercare plans for assigned clients.
• Act as a liaison with insurance providers, conducting continued stay reviews in accordance with ASAM criteria.
• Offer case management services to guarantee individualized quality care.
• Evaluate client needs and make referrals to additional programs or facilities when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate client notes.
• Exhibit a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor towards clients at all times, addressing any unmet needs and resolving complaints promptly.
• Support clients in overcoming barriers to recovery and contribute to the transformation of individuals, families, and communities through effective treatment.
• Foster an environment conducive to long-term recovery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in fields such as chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or a related discipline. Previous counseling experience is advantageous.
