Position Overview

Victory House is a dedicated facility providing a 30-bed inpatient halfway house specifically designed for adult males facing challenges with substance use disorders. Our mission is to deliver personalized care tailored to the unique needs of each client. As a primary counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals during their early recovery journey.

Our objective is to equip every client with essential tools for a successful transition back into the community and to foster a sustainable path towards sobriety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate group and family therapy sessions as scheduled, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Manage a caseload of clients, including all necessary case management and utilization review updates.
  • Conduct treatment planning and maintain accurate clinical records as required.
  • Deliver educational lectures to enhance client understanding of recovery processes.
  • Perform initial and follow-up assessments for clients as needed.
  • Complete comprehensive Biopsychosocial evaluations with assigned clients.
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents.
  • Provide crisis intervention support to clients when necessary.
  • Coordinate aftercare plans for assigned clients.
  • Act as a liaison with insurance providers, conducting continued stay reviews in accordance with ASAM criteria.
  • Offer case management services to ensure individualized and high-quality care.
  • Assess client needs and determine the necessity for referrals to additional programs or facilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate client notes.
  • Exhibit a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor towards clients at all times, addressing and resolving any complaints related to unmet needs.
  • Prioritize patient safety and work to eliminate barriers to recovery.
  • Contribute to creating an environment that promotes long-term recovery.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or a related field is required.

Experience: Previous counseling experience is preferred.
