Position Overview
The Baking Specialist plays a pivotal role in the creation and presentation of an array of baked goods, desserts, and pastries, adhering to the high standards set by the Executive Chef. Ensuring guest satisfaction is the primary objective of the Baking Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of bread, rolls, and other baked products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned kitchen area.
- Oversee food storage areas, including refrigeration and freezing units.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to uphold the visual appeal of food presentations and buffets.
- Engage in all kitchen operations to meet established standards and exceed guest expectations.
- Ensure all baked items are produced and served in accordance with established guidelines.
- Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards in the work area and equipment.
- Report necessary repairs and maintenance to the Executive Chef.
- Adhere to public health regulations and sanitation protocols.
- Comply with company grooming and uniform standards.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering as required.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures as directed.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support kitchen operations.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred.
Certifications:
Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) if applicable.
Skills & Experience:
Excellent communication skills, with a minimum of two years of experience in a culinary role, preferably within the cruise industry.
Additional Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass required alcohol and drug tests as mandated by regulations.
