Small Engine Technician

Job Summary:
Ace Hardware is seeking an experienced Small Engine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for repairing and maintaining small engines, including but not limited to lawnmowers, chainsaws, and generators.
The Small Engine Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing small engines, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including but not limited to lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, snowblowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Perform routine maintenance on small engines, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tuneups, as well as nonroutine work like engine replacements and rebuilding of components and machinery.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with customers and ensuring their satisfaction with repairs and maintenance services.
- Order and maintain inventory of small engine parts and supplies.
- Keep a clean and organized work area, following safety procedures, store policies, and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with store management and other staff to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Write up service order bills.
- Write up customer quotes.
- Assist with finding and ordering special order parts for customers in the store.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in small engine repair and maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other staff.
- Knowledge of small engine parts and their functions.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
