Job Summary

We are seeking a per diem, variable shift Patient Account Registrar to join our Admitting Department team. The successful candidate will be responsible for interviewing patients, securing insurance information, and working closely with various departments to ensure seamless patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and their representatives to obtain demographic information
  • Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable
  • Collaborate with Admitting Department staff, including PBX operators and receptionists
  • Operate a computer to input and retrieve data
  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff using age-specific techniques
  • Maintain proficiency in medical terminology
  • Participate in special projects and assignments as needed
Requirements
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service experience
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
