Job Summary

Phillips Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Machinist/Tool and Die Technician to join our team in Omaha. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for planning and laying out work, setting up and operating machine tools, and making necessary mechanical repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision machine work to create, assemble, disassemble, modify, or repair machines, apparatus, mechanical devices, and sub-assemblies.
  • Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and diagrams to ensure accurate manufacturing.
  • Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Use precision measurement and layout tools, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, rulers, square, and compass, to apply shop mathematics and formulas.
  • Operate manual machine shop tools, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, saws, grinders, and hones, applying knowledge of machining properties of various materials.
  • Understand programming and operation of CNC lathes, mills, MasterCAM, and AutoCAD.
  • Operate and program numerically controlled machines, including lathes, mills, wire EDM, and other related equipment to fabricate parts.
  • Build and/or modify equipment according to established specifications to meet specific project requirements.
  • Repair and/or modify existing and new products according to established specifications and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or training in a directly related area.
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial setting directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Associates of Applied Science in Precision Machining or Machine Tool Technology strongly preferred.
