Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our inpatient team. As a Physical Therapist, you will work with patients who have impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes. Your role will include examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and interventions toward achieving the highest functional outcomes for each patient or client.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family, and significant other persons and data sources.

Develop treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treat accordingly.

Demonstrate competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession-specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.

Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.

Re-evaluate and modify treatment plan and goals when appropriate.

Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.

Provide care as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures.

Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her practicing location (s). Recognize and communicate when the patient has received optimal benefit from physical therapy.

Adhere to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.

Ensure complete documentation and accurate billing.

Provide patient/family education as indicated.

Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy.

Maintain current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida. Temporary permit acceptable.

Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Inpatient experience required.
