Senior Living Career - Dietary Aide Role

**About the Role**

As a Dietary Aide at Freedom Village Bradenton, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and serve therapeutic diet trays in accordance with posted menus. This requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

**Essential Job Duties**

* Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required
* Serve meals in the health center
* Set up tables in the dining room and break down same after meal
* Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center
* Transport nonfood items to and from the health center

**Other Duties**

* Maintain station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary condition
* Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code
* Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned
* Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

**Qualifications**

* Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic
* Ability to understand measurements and conversions
* Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred
* Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
* Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers

**Physical Requirements/Working Conditions**

* Works indoors; must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the workday
* Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. independently
* Must be able to push and pull tray/bus/transport carts weighing up to 50 lbs. independently
* Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday

**Job Types**

* Full-time
* Salary: $15 per hour

**Shift**

* 8-hour shift
* Day shift

**Work Setting**

* Assisted living facility
* JCAHO accredited facility

**Experience**

* Dietary aide: 1 year (Required)
