We are seeking a highly skilled On-Site Supervisor/HVAC Mechanic to join our team at Tad PGS in Rutland, VT. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and providing exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise technical operations and maintenance of buildings, including supervising technical staff and providing support to other buildings and supervisors as needed.
- Prepare work schedules and assign specific duties to technical staff.
- Serve as subject matter expert in the hiring of technical staff.
- Communicate fluently (orally and in writing) with technical staff, management, and customers.
- Prepare and carry out building safety plans, ensuring compliance with security requirements.
- Schedule, coordinate, and carry out preventive maintenance (PMs) to ensure the building remains operational at all times.
- Ensure facilities meet environmental, health, and security standards, as well as government regulations.
- Timely respond to customer requests and complaints, negotiating contracts and managing relationships with vendors as needed.
- Ensure that tapping into existing utilities, services, piping, ductwork, fire safety, and security systems meets building policies and procedures.
- Carry out operations and energy plans for all buildings under this contract, ensuring the integrity of all systems is maintained.
- Document all building inspections on pertinent GSA forms.
- Advise the Project Manager and COR of any dangerous conditions, accidents, and any other safety conditions requiring immediate action.
- Be available at all times, including after-hours and holidays, to respond to emergencies within the federal facility.
- Regularly meet with COR to provide updates on contract performance.
- Plan and conduct preventive maintenance programs, keep records, and prepare reports.
- Train new employees and repair HVAC equipment, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Develop work schedules and assign specific duties to technical staff.
- Control access to mechanical areas within the building.
- Schedule all building services activities to avoid interfering with building operations.
- Be present at the assigned building at all times during normal working hours.
- Respond to and take care of all emergencies, such as fire alarm activations, electrical breaker trips, flooding, after working hours or during inclement weather or natural disasters.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Minimum five (5) years of recent experience in directing the operation and maintenance of equipment in a supervisory capacity for equipment of the approximate size, complexity, and other characteristics of the equipment to be operated and maintained under this contract.
- Minimum six (6) years of hands-on commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
- EPA Universal Refrigeration certification required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain the required NATE HVAC certification.
