Senior Director of Engineering

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Engineering to lead our software engineering team in the development of our transportation brokerage platform. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy for our platform, managing a global team of engineers, and driving operational and engineering excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and influence the product roadmap for key growth areas
  • Work with architects and tech leads to define and implement the technology strategy
  • Manage the engineering organization through directors and senior engineering managers
  • Hire, mentor, and grow the team
  • Drive end-to-end solutions across the supply chain
  • Drive and measure operational and engineering excellence
  • Partner with functional leaders to build and accelerate the roadmap
  • Proactively monitor, identify, and resolve customer issues

Requirements:

  • Experience in data development, platform development, and distributed systems
  • Strong senior-level engineering leadership expertise in medium to large-size companies
  • Proven experience in hiring and mentoring world-class engineering teams
  • Leading large-scale systems in fast-paced environments, startup experience a plus
  • Expertise in multiple distributed technologies, such as Spark/Storm, Kafka, Microservices, etc.
  • Experience in one or more public cloud technologies, such as GCP, Azure, etc.
  • Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 15+ years of industry experience
