Key Responsibilities:- Create high-quality assembled automotive parts in a safe and efficient manner, meeting various scheduled shift quotas.
- Manage inventory following established guidelines and procedures, including labeling and locating parts, picking parts from appropriate locations in specified quantities to fill baskets, delivering parts to work areas, and recording and communicating inventory levels.
- Read, learn, and interpret blueprints and work instructions and other instructions, both written and verbal, to complete assembly of products or components according to established guidelines and quality standards.
- Inspect and test parts and products as necessary, during or after assembly, according to established guidelines and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to maintenance and 6s standards.
- Practice problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques as part of a team responsible for realizing continuous improvement to product and procedures.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED), 2-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
- Must be willing to learn and practice continuous improvement techniques such as 5s, one-piece flow, set up reduction, etc.
- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
