The Position:

The Business Operations team is crucial for accelerating our growth and enhancing operational efficiency. We are looking for a Risk Management Strategy Analyst to join our Business Operations division, focusing on the Independent Risk Management (IRM) function. This pivotal role will collaborate closely with the Chief Risk Officer and the Risk Leadership team to define success metrics and develop a strategic execution plan for advancing SoFi's Independent Risk Management framework. You will serve as a key advisor to the Director of Business Operations and the wider CRO/Chief Risk Officer leadership team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate a diverse skill set, including strategic planning, analytical thinking, financial modeling, problem-solving, performance management, program leadership, and cross-functional project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the CRO and the Independent Risk Management team with essential business management and risk strategy initiatives.
  • Generate quarterly white papers that analyze macroeconomic trends and summarize key risk factors.
  • Facilitate the execution of both long-term and short-term strategies, priorities, and objectives for Independent Risk Management.
  • Lead the implementation of short and medium-term projects as an internal risk consultant, effectively managing business cases, scopes, dependencies, resources, and timelines.
  • Support regulatory compliance and examination processes related to Risk deliverables.
  • Foster accountability within the Risk organization by designing an operational rhythm that aligns strategy, execution, and performance management (e.g., OKRs, business reviews).
  • Create impactful presentations that effectively communicate critical risk topics and insights to leadership, board members, and regulators.
  • Collaborate with enterprise Business Operations counterparts across various business units to standardize processes such as quarterly planning and board deck preparation.
  • Contribute to SoFi's future by partnering with Corporate Development on the evaluation of potential assets to further our strategic objectives.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting, strategic roles within Financial Services, or risk management.
  • Proven ability to analyze challenges and opportunities with limited information, formulate strategies, develop action plans, identify resources, and manage projects to completion.
  • Strong storytelling skills, utilizing data to inform strategy, execution, and optimization.
  • High emotional intelligence to build relationships across various levels, departments, and personality types, leading without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated success in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
  • Proactive mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and sound business judgment.
  • Willingness to engage in all aspects of work, including less glamorous tasks.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to articulate and defend recommendations.
  • Passion for learning, responsibly growing our business, and supporting our mission of helping members manage their finances effectively.
  • Adept at balancing and prioritizing multiple projects for diverse stakeholders.
  • Comfortable defining and managing both business and technical requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in producing economic outlook summaries or white papers.
  • Background in Fintech.
  • MBA degree.
Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is provided below. The final salary offer will be based on individual factors such as experience, skills, and location.

Salary range: $99,000 - $186,000 annually.
