In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting new, first-time parents under 24 years old, providing them with essential information on child development, support, and connecting them to community resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Schedule and conduct home visits with families on your caseload, providing personalized support and guidance.
- Deliver parenting education using evidence-based curricula, focusing on areas such as parent-child interactions, safety, health, and child development.
- Support participants in their roles as first-time parents, addressing their unique needs and concerns.
- Conduct screenings and assessments for children and families, including developmental questionnaires and mental health screens.
- Develop and implement goal plans with each family, ensuring their progress and success.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work with families in electronic client records.
- Prepare and submit program reports within established timelines.
- Connect families to community resources, providing referrals and support as needed.
- Organize and facilitate group events for Healthy Families participants.
- Participate in community outreach activities and maintain professional relationships with community partners.
- Collaborate with agencies serving parents and children, including the Department of Children and Families.
- Practice cultural humility when working with diverse families.
- Attend intensive home visiting and topic-based trainings provided by Criterion Child Enrichment.
- Participate in biweekly staff meetings, case reviews, and other team activities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with families and young children.
- Knowledge of child development and positive parent-child interactions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent written documentation skills and proficiency with computers.
- Bilingual Portuguese or Spanish preferred.
