Bistro Server

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bistro Attendant to join our team at Courtyard by Marriott Richmond. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Presents menu, answers questions, and takes food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience.
• Anticipates guests' needs and responds promptly, maintaining positive guest relations at all times.
• Computes bills and accepts payment, tracks sales receipts, and ensures tips are reported properly for tax processing in our system.
• Clears and cleans tables and resets counters and tables to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
• Maintains kitchen and wait station by keeping the area tidy and clean and stocks kitchen and bar at the end of each shift.
• Inventory food, supplies, and equipment weekly and requests supplies as needed to ensure seamless operations.
• Prepare and serve food courses and beverages to guests, ensuring quick and efficient service.
• Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, folding napkins, requisitioning all necessary supplies, and transporting from the storeroom to the Bistro.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time and move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing between 20-25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors to ensure the success of our team.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate verbally and effectively with guests and co-workers.
• Ability to handle cash/credit transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Basic knowledge of food & beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations & etiquette.
• Able to work a flexible work schedule that includes rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
