Bistro Server

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused AM Bistro Attendant to join our team at Courtyard by Marriott Richmond. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and experiences to our guests.

• Guest Service: Present menu, answer questions, and take food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience.
• Anticipate Guest Needs: Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly, maintaining positive guest relations at all times.
• Point of Sale and Inventory: Compute bills, accept payment, track sales receipts, and ensure tips are reported properly for tax processing in the MICROS system. Maintain accurate inventory levels and request supplies as needed.
• Food and Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve food courses and beverages to guests, ensuring high-quality presentation and service standards.
• Communication and Teamwork: Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Closing Duties: Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, folding napkins, requisitioning all necessary supplies, and transporting from the storeroom to the Bistro. Set up all condiments and beverages according to service standards.
• Physical Demands: Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing between 20-25 pounds without assistance.

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate verbally and effectively with guests and co-workers.
• Cash Handling and Basic Math: Ability to handle cash/credit transactions and perform basic math calculations.
• Food and Beverage Knowledge: Basic knowledge of food & beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations & etiquette.
• Flexibility: Able to work a flexible work schedule that includes but is not limited to rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.'
