Job Title: Process Engineer

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) is a world leader in interconnect solutions for various industries. We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team in Hamden, CT.

The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and improving fully automated manufacturing processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards. The candidate will collaborate with global manufacturing and engineering teams, be hands-on, and growth-oriented with an internal drive to improve current processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively with production teams and analyze process data to ensure products meet quality requirements.
  • Evaluate process data, perform capability studies, and control charts to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Develop, improve, document, audit, and maintain manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Design, test, and deploy tooling and automation to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work closely with external suppliers and manufacturers on new equipment and processes.
  • Prepare equipment and systems specifications and support global sourcing efforts to identify and qualify suppliers of raw materials.
  • Coordinate with global manufacturing sites in the transition of new technology and equipment.
  • Understand and drive process step cycle times, efficiencies, and yields.
  • Participate in DFMs, FMEAs, and risk assessment activities.
  • Work with the team to define critical product/process parameters.
  • Evaluate safety and occupational risk and propose cost reduction activities.
Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Engineering discipline, Mechanical Engineering preferred, advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience and/or training within the high-speed cabling industry preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to solve practical and technical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to communicate and relay manufacturing information across continents.
  • Working knowledge of solid modeling tools, such as Creo or Solid Works.
  • Working knowledge of MS Suite of products, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to learn, adopt, and improve new technology within a new industry.
