Job Title: Senior Substation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Substation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of electric substations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop substation projects, ensuring compliance with the National Electric Safety Code.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop project objectives and timelines.
  • Conduct detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and junior engineers.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers.
  • Lead and coordinate with teams to rectify any operational issues in the substations.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in substation design, preferably in a senior role.
  • An ABET-accredited degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code.
  • A PE license is desired.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in using engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) systems for designing projects.
