Objective:
Oversee and manage the upkeep, energy utilization, and enhancements of the organization’s facilities and grounds. The Electrical Facilities Engineer will gain insights into plant operations and ultimately evolve into the role of Facilities Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe environment for oneself and all stakeholders.
- Exhibit strong leadership capabilities.
- Drive initiatives for process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Uphold and enhance quality within the organization.
- Administer facility management, including maintenance and repairs, to support the entire organization.
- Oversee grounds maintenance, including snow removal and landscaping.
- Manage all facility piping systems, HVAC infrastructure, and utilities.
- Evaluate market trends and recommend energy procurement strategies (electricity, natural gas, nitrogen, and hydrogen) to fulfill production needs.
- Control expenses and promote energy efficiency initiatives.
- Supervise the maintenance and acquisition of mobile vehicles and equipment.
- Establish and uphold risk management protocols to safeguard facility and corporate assets.
- Facilitate the sale of surplus materials and outdated equipment.
- Monitor relevant state and federal regulations regarding utilities.
- Ensure a safe working environment.
- Foster a positive workplace culture.
- Collaborate with various departments to cultivate a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Guarantee timely completion of daily, monthly, and annual reports and forecasts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; or 5 years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of basic accounting practices, including investment returns, depreciation schedules, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Proficient in PC usage and related software.
- Extensive experience with various voltages and circuit breakers.
- In-depth knowledge of preventive maintenance for high voltage systems, switchgear, transformers, and substations.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, boilers, and piping.
- Project management skills, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and operational training for personnel.
- Experience in drafting scopes of work and preparing documentation for vendor quotations on project tasks.
- Ability to create technical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of building codes, including structural, fire, and electrical standards.
- Meticulous record-keeping for project and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with effective planning capabilities.
- Leadership and supervisory experience.
- Ability to interpret and understand financial statements.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance regulations.
- Understanding of commodities markets and futures hedging.
- Proficient in English for all business-related communications.
Office setting with frequent engagement in production facilities and outdoor environments. Some travel may be necessary.
Compensation:
$100,000 to $130,000 annually, based on experience.
