Controller Job Description

Aurora Flight Sciences, a Boeing Company, is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team. As a key member of our Accounting and Finance department, you will be responsible for managing and developing employees and first-level managers, guiding financial decisions, and providing oversight and approval of technical approaches and processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop employees and first-level managers performing financial activities, including gathering, analyzing, interpreting, preparing, and reconciling financial information.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures to guide financial decisions.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, systems improvements, and processes.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting closes.
  • Provide expert knowledge of internal controls and processes to ensure system integrity and compliance with accounting system requirements and company internal control guidelines and requirements.
  • Lead interaction with government compliance agencies for accounting-related issues.
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
  • Engage with FP&A and Program Finance to prepare budgets and schedules.
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements and anticipate future legislation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years accounting experience.
  • Personnel management and/or team lead experience.
  • Knowledgeable on Aurora Flight Sciences' accounting system, processes, and procedures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.
Preferred Requirements:
  • MBA/CPA desired.
  • Previous audit experience.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and process management skills.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and experience building strong relationships with candidates and internal business partners.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and with collaborative teams.
  • Self-starter with a track record of producing results that exceed business goals and objectives.
Physical Requirements:

In Manassas, Virginia (Hybrid) or Virtual. Minimum travel required to Manassas, VA approximately once per quarter.

Salary Range (Annualized USD): $117,000.00 to $209,000.00
