Program Assistant Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Support: Assist in the planning and implementation of community programs, including general office and program-related support.
  • Participant Care: Provide a safe and nurturing environment for program participants, identifying and meeting their individual needs.
  • Communication: Serve as a main resource for question and program guidance in the absence of the Director, providing friendly hospitality to those we serve.
  • Group Interaction: Recognize and provide opportunities for group interaction, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Activity Planning: Guide groups or individuals in activity plans, ensuring a fun and engaging experience.
  • Safety and Security: Carry out established roles in enforcing facility safety regulations and implementing emergency procedures.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean tables and vacuum carpets as needed, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Food Service: Serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks as needed, adhering to food safety guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum of High School diploma/GED desired, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Training and/or education experience in youth programming, ministry, and/or social services preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills required.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain training and certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and Blood Pathogen.
