Position Overview:

As a Production Shop Supervisor, you will hold a pivotal role in overseeing the production area, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your authority will enable you to assess the production environment and implement necessary actions in accordance with established plans and guidelines.

This position requires interaction with personnel across all levels of the organization, as well as engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide the activities of team members within the designated area.
  • Foster the development of future leaders by effectively distributing workloads and motivating team members.
  • Implement individual development plans to enhance team capabilities.
  • Train and mentor staff in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for operational enhancements, focusing on waste reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Lead Lean Kaizen initiatives to drive cost and time savings.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on new product introductions.
  • Establish and maintain standardized work instructions to ensure process consistency.
  • Conduct capacity assessments and determine staffing needs to meet production goals.
  • Advocate for organizational objectives and troubleshoot any scheduling or material challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and engage with customers to maintain effective relationships.
  • Promote safety compliance and conduct investigations as necessary.
  • Partner with HR to cultivate an inclusive workplace culture that values all contributions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering.
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and levels within the organization.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
