Fatherhood Advocate

The Fatherhood Advocate will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of services under the Fatherhood Initiative. This position requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and monitor the delivery of services in accordance with the Fatherhood Initiative and the affiliates' policies and procedures.
- Detail and multi-task oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Able to resolve conflicts, creative, and resourceful with time management skills.
- Time spent in strenuous physical activity, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Have a commitment to reflective supervision, data collection, and continuous quality improvement.
- Bachelor's or four-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Health, Psychology, or a related field is recommended. A 2-year degree or 60 credit hours will be accepted in Early Childhood or a related field. A high school diploma or GED and 2 years of previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
- Must pass a criminal background check and is subject to the agency's drug and alcohol testing program.
- Negative Tuberculosis Screen, First Aid certification, CPR certification with an emphasis on children and toddlers.
- Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside the project area as assigned.
- May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
- Possess a valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency's vehicle insurance carrier.
- Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions through MET's electronic payroll system.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.
