Fatherhood Advocate

The Fatherhood Advocate will play a critical role in coordinating and monitoring the delivery of services in accordance with the Fatherhood Initiative and the affiliates policies and procedures.

• Detail-Oriented and Organized: The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Conflict Resolution and Time Management: Ability to resolve conflicts, be creative, and resourceful with time management skills.
• Physical Demands: Time spent in strenuous physical activity, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to Quality Improvement: Have a commitment to reflective supervision, data collection, and continuous quality improvement.

1. Education: Bachelor or four-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Health, Psychology, or a related field is recommended. A 2-year degree or 60 credit hours will be accepted in Early Childhood or a related field. A high school diploma or GED and 2 years of previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
2. Certifications and Screenings: Must pass a criminal background check and is subject to the agency's drug and alcohol testing program. Negative Tuberculosis Screen, First Aid certification, CPR certification with emphasis on children and toddlers.
3. Travel and Safety: Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside the project area as assigned. May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
4. Driver's License and Vehicle Insurance: Possess a valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency's vehicle insurance carrier.
5. Computer Literacy: Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions through MET's electronic payroll system. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.
