Fatherhood Advocate

The Fatherhood Advocate will play a critical role in coordinating and monitoring the delivery of services in accordance with the Fatherhood Initiative and the affiliates policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Detail-Oriented and Organized: The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Conflict Resolution and Time Management: Ability to resolve conflicts, be creative, and resourceful with time management skills.
- Physical Demands: Time spent in strenuous physical activity, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to Quality Improvement: Have a commitment to reflective supervision, data collection, and continuous quality improvement.
- Education: Bachelor or four-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Health, Psychology, or a related field is recommended. A 2-year degree or 60 credit hours will be accepted in Early Childhood or a related field. A high school diploma or GED and 2 years of previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
- Certifications and Screenings: Must pass a criminal background check and is subject to the agency's drug and alcohol testing program. Negative Tuberculosis Screen, First Aid certification, CPR certification with emphasis on children and toddlers.
- Travel and Safety: Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside the project area as assigned. May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
- Driver's License and Vehicle Insurance: Possess a valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency's vehicle insurance carrier.
- Computer Literacy: Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions through MET's electronic payroll system. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.
