Transportation Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to lead our transportation operations team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods across the country.
Key Responsibilities- Lead with a safety-first mindset to ensure the well-being of our drivers, customers, and the general public.
- Develop and implement safety procedures and training programs to maintain a culture of safety within the transportation department.
- Oversee and develop drivers and transportation associates through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Direct and supervise the work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates within the transportation department.
- Build high-performing teams by participating in interviewing and hiring transportation personnel, reviewing performance, and delivering disciplinary action when necessary.
- Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and stop waste, and improve processes to complete work more safely and efficiently.
- Conduct routine safety and driver meetings, and oversee the maintenance of driver qualification files.
- Investigate all accidents, maintain an accident file, track causes, and take appropriate preventative action.
- Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution required.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
- Experience as a driver a plus.
- Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods, and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
- Strong understanding of DOT requirements and familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
This role may require significant travel, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following physical activities for the described length of time:
- Occasionally: stand, walk, drive a vehicle, lift 1-10 lbs, carry 1-10 lbs, push/pull, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, grasp objects, manipulate objects, and manual dexterity.
A high school diploma or GED is required; a college degree is preferred.
