Job Summary

Caldera Care is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated RN Unit Manager to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our residents and ensuring the smooth operation of our skilled nursing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervisory Duties:
    • Assign daily work tasks to nursing staff
    • Direct and oversee the work of nursing assistants and nurses
    • Reassign staff as needed to meet facility needs
    • Prepare written evaluations of staff performance
    • Enforce facility policies and procedures, including disciplinary actions as necessary
    • Authorize time records and receive employee complaints
    • Participate in training programs and assist with new staff orientation
  • Nursing Management Responsibilities:
    • Assess and implement individualized care plans for residents
    • Ensure timely completion of routine assessments and evaluations
    • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate resident care
    • Communicate regularly with medical staff regarding resident needs
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care
    • Assist with ongoing care of residents as needed
    • Process new admission orders and assist with the admission process
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Provide temporary care to residents in the event of nurse absences
    • Ensure assigned areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner
    • Monitor and order supplies as needed
    • Transcribe medical orders to resident charts
    Requirements
    • Current RN license in good standing
    • Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a long-term care setting (preferred)
    • BLS certification
    • Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices
    • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines
