Position Overview:
The Surgical Services Technician plays a crucial role in the operating room by managing the instruments, supplies, and equipment essential for surgical procedures. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of surgical operations and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare for surgical procedures by confirming the availability of necessary supplies, equipment, and instruments.
2. Efficiently set up sterile tables, ensuring all instruments are in optimal working condition.
3. Adhere to operating room safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for patients and ensure successful surgical outcomes.
4. Actively participate in surgical team duties, from turnover between cases to daily operational tasks.
5. Utilize knowledge of surgical procedures to anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout the operation.
6. Maintain the highest standards of sterile technique and be attentive to the needs of team members.
7. Safely handle surgical specimens according to established protocols.
8. Follow proper procedures for managing surgical instruments and equipment.
9. Collaborate with registered nurses and surgical team members to achieve compliance with quality metrics and enhance patient outcomes.
10. Uphold ethical care standards and advocate for patient rights while fostering a culture of safety.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:
This role requires the ability to:
- Sit for up to 1 hour daily.
- Stand for extended periods, potentially up to 8 hours.
- Walk for 8-10 hours daily, with the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Frequently push objects exceeding 100 lbs.
- Perform manual dexterity tasks, including handling and twisting motions.
- Maintain visual acuity for various tasks, including depth perception and color recognition.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma with completion of a certified Surgical Technologist program and successful passing of the Surgical Technologist Certification Exam.
- Orientation and training will be provided, including a 4-6 week program tailored to surgical specialties.
