The Urology Department at University of Minnesota Physicians offers comprehensive services for diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the kidneys, ureters, and bladder, including cancers of these organs. Our dedicated team addresses benign issues such as prostate enlargement, incontinence, kidney stones, and impotence. Urology is primarily a surgical field, and we perform numerous procedures in our clinic, including cystoscopy, vasectomy, and treatments for benign prostate enlargement. Key Responsibilities:
- Support healthcare providers and patients during clinic visits, ensuring a smooth experience.
- Manage clinic schedules, welcome patients, guide them to examination rooms, and gather essential medical information for their records.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare team members, including nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and physicians, to enhance patient care.
- Depending on your certification or license, assist with minor in-office procedures, administer injections and immunizations, and perform laboratory/sample collections.
Qualifications:
- For Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT): NREMT & MN EMT certification required.
- For Medical Assistants (MA): A Medical Assisting Diploma from a CHEA/CAAHEP accredited program is necessary (CMA or RMA preferred).
- For Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN): An active Minnesota LPN license is mandatory.
If selected for employment, compensation and job classification will be determined based on individual qualifications, including licensure, certifications, and experience.
