Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Environmental Superintendent to oversee our environmental remediation initiatives. This position entails managing the full lifecycle of remediation projects, ensuring they are executed successfully within defined scopes, timelines, and budgets while adhering to all contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage multiple remediation projects across various locations, ensuring they are completed on schedule and according to project specifications.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary activities, integrating essential scheduling elements to enhance project efficiency.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards, taking direct responsibility for the implementation and reinforcement of all necessary protocols.
  • Lead field teams, including equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors, in the planning and execution of work.
  • Interpret project specifications and manage various construction phases to avoid delays and maintain momentum.
  • Maintain precise daily field documentation, showcasing a strong understanding of construction methods and practices.
  • Recognize and understand contract stipulations, identifying potential changes or out-of-scope conditions.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates with appropriate documentation, proactively addressing scheduling conflicts and ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Procure necessary materials and negotiate terms with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Conduct investigations into incidents and complete relevant documentation, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety briefings.
  • Provide project support by participating in site assessments, soliciting quotes from subcontractors, preparing estimates, and aiding in proposal submissions.
  • Utilize computer skills, particularly proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, to improve project efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set both short-term and long-term objectives for the team.
  • Assist in forecasting costs to completion and preparing change order documentation as necessary.
  • Supervise and support the professional development of up to 10 direct reports in craft roles.
  • Travel to various project sites as required for effective project execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in leading environmental cleanup, soil remediation, demolition, or habitat restoration projects.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams in construction project execution.
  • Completion of Supervisor Training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher certification.
  • Experience with USACE/Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.
  • USACE Quality Control Training.
