Position Summary: The Facility Maintenance Specialist will ensure that office and public spaces are kept clean and well-maintained. Responsibilities include general cleaning, maintenance tasks, event setup and breakdown, and restocking supplies. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors to uphold the cleanliness of all TCAH locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
  • Wash windows, mirrors, and chair mats.
  • Ensure restrooms are clean and adequately supplied.
  • Dispose of waste and empty trash receptacles.
  • Keep a cleaning log to document areas that have been cleaned and inspected.
  • Restock cleaning supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
  • Organize janitorial storage spaces.
  • Report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
  • Launder TCAH uniforms and other items as necessary.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Adhere to workplace safety standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Custodian Manager.
Position Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Strong commitment to the mission of eliminating hunger and promoting food justice.
  • Minimum of 1 year of custodial experience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively and foster teamwork.
  • Capable of building and maintaining relationships with participants, partner organizations, and colleagues.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to take initiative independently.
  • Effective oral communication skills are essential.
