Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of CT procedures to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including explaining the process and positioning them correctly.
  • Start IV access and inject contrast media as needed, under the direction of a physician.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in ongoing service and process improvement efforts to enhance patient care and department efficiency.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a JRC-accredited program in Radiography required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Eligible for ARRT (CT) certification required; ARRT R.T. registration required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, and repetitive motion. The successful candidate will be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
