We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Inpatient Psychiatry team at MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical strategies to improve patient outcomes and advance our organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Provide leadership and oversight to multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination and patient flow.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure they have the necessary skills and support to provide high-quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and other healthcare organizations to advance our organization's mission and improve patient outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical research and best practices in psychiatry and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine and board eligible in the field of Psychiatry.
- Current and valid licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine or eligible.
- 5+ years of experience practicing psychiatry, with a strong background in leadership and management.
- High degree of technical skills, evidence of leadership qualities, and strong organizational skills are required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrate expertise in management of patient care, direct clinical supervision, and general medication administration.
- Current DEA Registration Certificate.
- Meet other credentialing criteria defined in Medical Staff By-laws.
- Physically and mentally able to perform the requirements of the position, including sufficient mobility to move through the facility.
