Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Risk Analyst to become a vital part of our Risk team. This role focuses on implementing thorough investigative measures to identify prevalent fraud and risk patterns while guiding our clients on optimal practices for card acceptance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track monthly collections and recover losses within the portfolio.
  • Process UCC liens, levies, and tax notifications.
  • Address all compliance-related communications.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow Risk Analysts to fulfill all risk-related tasks.
  • Conduct analytical risk evaluations regarding merchant portfolio decisions.
  • Engage proactively with clients to educate them on best practices for card acceptance.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key clients.
  • Communicate directly with clients to clarify risk limitations and account decisions.
  • Resolve and de-escalate inquiries within the Merchant Awareness department.
  • Validate any suspicious transactions through invoice requests and other investigative methods.
  • Perform re-evaluations for accounts with heightened financial risk.
  • Analyze diverse business types across various credit card acceptance channels and risk factors.
  • Monitor client deposits to ensure compliance with approved processing limits.
  • Make immediate funding decisions while documenting the rationale through a CRM ticketing system.
  • Timely manage flagged accounts to mitigate potential losses.
  • Monitor unusual merchant activities and take action against fraudulent behaviors.
  • Provide analytical insights to underwriting, customer support, and sales teams.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a merchant awareness or risk investigation role.
  • Background in merchant services with current experience in Fiserv (First Data) required.
  • In-depth understanding of Card Scheme regulations.
  • Experience assisting clients with chargebacks in a supportive capacity.
  • Strong client communication skills, particularly in handling escalated inquiries related to due diligence investigations.
  • Familiarity with the workflow and onboarding processes for new merchants.
  • Hands-on experience in reviewing and analyzing financial data and processing statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
