Pulmonary Transplant Physician Assistant Opportunity

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join their Pulmonary Transplant team. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of comprehensive treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate patients' physical and mental conditions through comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
  • Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and healthcare needs.
  • Prescribe, recommend, and/or employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures, and perform indicated procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policies.
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines, and in partnership with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of health illnesses/conditions, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited program.
  • Less than 1 year of experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • Physician Assistant license through the state of TX.
