Job Title: CES Specialist - Youth Services

Covenant House California is seeking a highly motivated and experienced CES Specialist to join our team. As a CES Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting youth experiencing homelessness and vulnerable populations in Alameda County.

Job Summary:

The CES Specialist will be responsible for assisting youth in completing CES assessments, linking them to services and supports, and providing workshops. This position will work collaboratively with CHC teams, staff, and other service providers in the community to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with youth experiencing homelessness and vulnerable populations in Alameda County
  • Assist youth in completing CES assessments and linking them to services and supports
  • Provide workshops and training on topics such as crisis intervention, mental illness, and community-based service delivery
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with staff from local and state resources
  • Support agency implementation of Alameda County's Coordinated Entry assessment tool
  • Maintain strong understanding of community housing resources, mental health issues, and state and county resources available for youth experiencing homelessness
Requirements:
  • Lived experience is required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of youth work experience is required
  • Must be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work with other staff members, clients, vendors, and the public
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid California driver's license
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, and lift up to 30-40 pounds. The position will be split between our Oakland and Hayward sites.
